Mr. Abdullah Hamad Bin Zarah has a Master Degree in Public Health from Tsukuba University, Japan and is a certified Black Belt in Six Sigma in Management and Strategic Performance Enhancement.
He has worked with the Ministry of Health for 3 years and has over 19 years of service in the private sector and has also participated in several non-governmental and charitable committees and participated in the development of several plans and strategies for wide range of industries especially in health care.
He has been with Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City since 2007 and currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer. He is currently the chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee and the Executive Committee at the City.
To name a few of his recent achievements; he had directed the full utilization of the City facility by expanding the Bed Capacity from the original plan of operating 400 beds to the current City operational beds of 510; introduced the Strategic Planning and implementation of the Balance Scorecard for the City.
Furthermore, he has also initiated some of the important programs and projects in the City such as the Succession planning, Cost Containment Initiatives, 555 Plan, SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) Analysis, Collaboration with Local and International Organizations as well as encouraging the City in participating in Internationally acclaimed award giving bodies such as the Arab Health Awards and Hospital Build Awards to which the City received numerous excellence awards thus enabling the City to be acknowledged Internationally. He is also one of the key persons for the establishment of the First International Rehab Excellence Awards category in the Arab Health Awards which was launched in 2011.
In addition to the successful program and projects that he initiated and participated, He made significant contributions with regards to the City’s Profit Growth Rate, as well as ensuring the City’s continuous commitment in providing high quality of service, and implementation of both national and international standards and best practices by having the City achieve its prestigious accreditations from the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The City’s P&O center is also recognized as a Certified partner of Ottobock, Germany and is ISO Certified (ISO:9001 and ISO 13485:2016) for the provision of customized P&O medical devices for Adults and Children.
